An Exciting Addition to our range
We're delighted to announce our fifth release. This will be a six year old Staiosha from the whisky mecca that is Islay.
This is a peated whisky produced by Bunnahabhain. Ours is a little special though. It's currently maturing in a 100 litre first flavour Texan, Garrison Brothers barrel.
After trying a sample we couldn't believe it was only four years old. The first fill wood and large surface to contact ratio of wood to spirit means this whisky is maturing quickly.
Our tasting notes to date are :
Nose: Gentle wood smoke with zingy lemon peel notes and a gentle brown sugar sweetness
Palate: Vanilla, pepper, a touch of spice and salty coastal notes
Finish: A complex finish beginning with a sharp sweetness with a fiery hint, giving way to a more nutty profile
This release is available to pre order through the Still in Cask website here but you have to be quick, only 18 out of 80 bottles are only available.
